AL West[/u]
Los Angeles California Angels (in the outfield) of Anaheim California- No Troy Glaus doesn’t mean a loss of the division. Thanks to the signing of speedster Orlando Cabrera and the monster known as Vlad, the Angels win no matter what contrived name they call them.
Texas Rangers- They showed signs of being a good, if not great, team last year. They re-signed Soriano for another year, and have Blalock, Young, and Teixeira to form a very potent infield. They still might need help with pitching, but they finish second in the division. Depending on if they can convince Soriano to stay around longer, this may or may not be the last time they finish this high for a while
Oakland Athletics- Wow, looks like Barry Zito drew the short straw out of the “Big Three”. As a result of the small market teams not being able to match salaries with the big boys, the A’s slip further down the ladder in the AL. Eric Chavez still has a good enough year to be the starting 3B in the All Star Game, so its not like everything is a lost cause this year.
Seattle Mariners- The new lineup featuring Sexson, Beltre, and some guy named Ichiro might score plenty of runs this season. But the pitching staff will give up more than that. Meanwhile, Sexson and Beltre are put on the DL for the entire season after doctors diagnose them as certifiably insane for signing with the Mariners
